To assist students of non duality with an interest in quantum theory and consciousness, the work of Stanley Sobottka, a Professor Emeritus of Physics at The University of Virginia is one of “best of breed”. His “Course in Consciousness” covers the spectrum of physics to spirituality. This is a dense, well researched work, recommended for those so inclined by Francis Lucille during a discussion regarding Libet and other experiments that illustrate that, in fact, we neither control nor author our thoughts. This being realized, we are prepared to conclude that, as individual personalities, we do not “make” our decisions. This is compelling grist for thinkers investigating whether we are “the doer of our deeds.” In the final analysis, this type of work is primarily helpful as a tool to destabilize our belief systems and, hopefully, detach us , allowing us to turn directly inward. What is Wrong with purposeful action? All you need is to listen, remember, ponder. It is like taking food. All you can do is to bite off, chew and swallow.
