Much like Rumi, Symeon the New Theologian (949-1022 AD) was a divinely inspired Christian Saint of the Eastern Orthodox church whose poetry addressed the ineffable nature of Reality. This futile attempt at using words to express praise and conjure up the glory of the formless totality is fascinating.

Enjoying the Stillness of Robert Powell

robert powellMost are familiar with the stellar Marathi translation work of Maurice Frydman on Nisargadatta Maharaj through his primary work, "I am That". Some also are familiar with the translation work of Jean Dunn, who edited "Seeds of Consciousness", "Consciousness and the Absolute" and others. Stephen Wolinsky also has a masterful collection of book and videos heralding the Indian Sage.

Another author who made great contributions translating Nisargadatta was Dr Robert Powell. penning the trio of classics  "The Ultimate Medicine', "The Nectar Of Immortality" and "The Experience of Nothingness."

At 92, this quiet, humble legend still resides in California.

One of the benefits of passion regarding the Trruth is the growing company of like minded people. Not often discussed, some of the "peak experiences" of a Francis Lucille Retreat, are the heartfelt offerings of it's attendee's sharing music, chanting, art, humor and literature.

One such offering was a passionate reading in Farsi and English of the magnificent poen by Jelaluddin Rumi, "Who am I?"
