How did the Universe come into Existence?
Direct experience must be the sole test of reality.
This being true, then, every presumption or conclusion should be subjected to the examination of our direct experience to validate it.
For instance, let's examine the presumption that the universe existed before our experience of it. What evidence would there be of such a universe?

In our last newsletter, we posted the following quote and the full text for Hui Neng's Platform Sutra:
“The day had come for [Hui Neng] to spread the Dharma, and he arrived at a monastery where the abbot, Master YinZong, was preaching the Parinirvana Sutra. Out in the courtyard, a flag was flapping in the wind, and two monks were arguing below. One said, "The wind is moving." The other said, "No, the flag is moving." They could not reach a conclusion. Hui Neng came forth and said, "Neither the wind nor the flag is moving. It is your minds that are moving." The whole assembly was startled.”
Greg Goode, heading the StillnessSpeaks Open Awareness Study Group, received a question regarding this post. In his answer, he gently explains this quote very methodically and clearly. It is a very important understanding. Click here to read Greg Goode explaining that "neither the wind nor flag is moving. It is your minds that are moving."

Recently, while having a conversation with our friend Susan Kahn (www.nondualpointing.com), Scott Kiloby made the passing comment:
"You know, I've always had the sense that death is love."
This amazing comment floored Susan who shortly thereafter immortalized the comment in a poem. Click here to read Susan Kahn's poetic expression, "Death is Love."
