The Gateless Gate

During a retreat in 2008, a student asked Francis Lucille a question. Knowing the student well, Francis decided not to answer his direct question, but to address the student on a variety of issues that might assist him. Thus began a discourse entitled The Gateless Gate, referring to a topic the student and teacher had previously had. Some of the discussion was humbling; all of it was very direct and specific to the student. Perhaps, this dialogue best demonstrates the value of consistancy ( choosing one teacher, rather seeking many)  for it was exactly becuase the teacher knew the student intimately that he was best able to assist him. The result was a rare event recorded on film. Because of the nature of the diaogue, it precipated may follow up questions in the days that followed. In an effort to share the beauty of having a guide in the subjective search for self realization, we present to you with the first portion of the dialogue entitled The Gateless Gate Satsang.
