CARLSBAD, CA (July 20, 2011) – Inner Directions has announced that the eighth "Inner Directions Gathering" will be held at its usual location within the Sherwood Auditorium, located at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. The museum overlooks the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, California. For those interested in attending, open registration begins July 22, 2011.

The Gathering has become a much-heralded event for seekers of truth who wish to go beyond the limitations of traditional religious and spiritual teachings. For seven consecutive years the Gathering has hosted well-known spiritual luminaries known for their authentic realization and teachings. Some of the past Gathering presenters include: Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass, Douglas Harding, Coleman Barks, Byron Katie, Tony Parsons, Toni Packer, Hameed Ali, Gangaji, Adyashanti, and Lama Surya Das.

Many different forms of music have been known to fill the Gathering halls, including Musica Sacra’s Gregorian chanting, the Illumination Band's musical accompaniment of Rumi's poetry set to dervish dancing, the poignant chanting of Krishna Das, and various talented musicians on guitar, cello, and sitar.

The purpose of the Gathering is to present a colorful tapestry of authentic spiritual teachings, drawn from different traditions and backgrounds, which all serve to awaken the participant to the ever-present reality, which is the same as their true nature.
