Jo Strømgren Kompani: The Neighbour
A lonely pianist on one side of the wall.
A couple with domestic problems on the other.
They can hear each other...
Performed by the Jo Strømgren dance company with musical score by Leoš Janáček, The Neighbour is a beautiful short film about relationships between man and woman, about chances seemingly lost and, above all, the redemptive power of music.
The short clip above (the actual film duration is 23 minutes) features dancers Line Tørmoen and Dimitri Jourdeas, as well as Leif Ove Andsnes, the internationally renowned classical pianist.
The Neighbour won the prestigious 2010 Rose d’Or Award in the category 'Arts Documentary and Performing Arts'. The Rose d’Or is one of the most important annual events in the international television industry.
