The Inadequacy of Communication

Phenomenal communication is wholly inadequate to ever directly reveal Reality. The irony of this revelation was not lost on me.

"Words and sentences are produced by the law of causation and are mutually conditioning. They cannot express highest Reality."  The Lankavatara Sutra

Read the Lankavatara Sutra, one of the most important documents of Mahayana Buddhism, influenencd both Chan and core teachings of Zen.

It is primarily the teaching of Buddha to a Boddhisatva, named Mahamat, meaning "great Wisdom." One of it's central tenents is what I refer to as the  Primacy of Consciousness.

"That One which is beyond all thought is inconceivable by all thought."  Dionysius the Areopagite ,

Buddha taught that suffering is the by product of the false distinction between Self and Not Self.  

Meister Eckhart claimed that, " If we will see things truly, they are strangers to goodness, truth and everything that tolerates any distinction. They are intimates of the One that is bare of any kind of multiplicity and distinction."

Dissolution  of distinction brings with it an acute awareness that I never "talk with" anyone but mySelf. In some strange, even twisted joke, it is suddenly clear that every event in time and space is only the perfect reflection of mySelf, choiceless awareness.

As Robert Adams once said, "All is well and unfolding exactly as it should." How could it be otherwise?
