Darryl’s website features short articles which exemplify and summarise his teaching. A number of people asked whether these could be collated into a book and Darryl has responded with this new, concise collection of writings. Darryl’s approach can be summarised as follows:

“For three thousand years, what is known generally as a nondual perspective has emerged in a variety of ways, housed in major religions, eastern and western philosophies, the declarations of random individuals, and, more recently, the findings of modern physics. The differences among these various presentations are staggering, making it difficult to realise they are all saying the same thing, but using different words. The traditional way of cutting through the confusion of the words is to acknowledge your own experience of life in the simplest way possible. This Summary of Existence is that very simple acknowledgment and one may find that it is a key to opening the essence of a thousand teachings.”

Spontaneously drawn to meditation at age fourteen, Darryl spent the next seventeen years exploring awareness and concentration exercises from both Eastern and Western traditions. He then spent nine years apprenticed with mindfulness teacher Ruth Denison and another six years as a meditation monk in the Thai Forest Tradition, under the guidance of Ajahn Sumedho.
