acceptance: “… accept life as it comes and you will find it a blessing …” ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
Our intention was to end our “May pause” in Aug … but as Rumi reminds us, “all plans are subject to revision” … and of course, the aging adventure is ever dominant these days 🙂 …
August quietly passed … and early September is here … with this update – later than intended … for which we offer our heartfelt apologies.
Ongoing health issues necessitated this.
Honoring what the moment is asking, we are extending the pause to mid-late October.
We remain ever grateful for your patience and understanding. 🙏
Life has a way of upending “plans” … offering an underlying invitation … to something deeper … acceptance …
This invitation is not some resignation or a rigid practice … but an ongoing openness to the exquisitely unpredictable nature of simply being human. As Joan Tollifson suggests in our 2025 post, Nothing To Grasp: Celebrate Life As It Is?:
The more we’re able to simply relax and be open to life being exactly the way it is, the more available this unconditional love becomes. And when it’s not available, then it’s not. Flowers open and close. The sky clears and then clouds up again. Some places have more stormy weather and more cloudy days than other places. This is the nature of life. Waking up to the unblemished simplicity of what is isn’t something that happens once and then it’s done. There is no end and no beginning to this infinite Self-realization, and sometimes it hurts like hell.
Meeting reality … seems to demand that our “preferred scripts” fall away …
Remember … breathe …
Then what? …
This moment … simple … un-hurried … un-orchestrated … just as it is …
And the gift? … radical acceptance …
May your everyday encounters be met with gentle … acceptance …
