non-reactivity: … in the space where nothing is defended, nothing needs to be held …
We often believe that reacting is natural … even necessary.
Something happens, and almost instantly, there is a response: a tightening … a defense … a need to answer or push back.
But if we look deeper, that reaction is not inevitable. It is learned … and repeated – almost unconsciously.
And what if, in that moment, nothing is defended?
What if there is simply a pause … a space where the usual response does not take hold?No suppression.
But an absence of the need to protect. In that space – seemingly – something remarkable unfolds … that’s gentle … that’s calm … and different.
There is no impulse to push away … nothing to hold onto … and nothing to carry forward. And in this … something remains unmoved, untroubled … and …
… simply present …
Maybe it is not that we must learn to control our reactions … but … in seeing them clearly, the need to react begins to dissolve.
What if non-reactivity is not something to achieve … but something that simply reveals itself …
… when nothing is being defended?
May you experience … what remains … when nothing is defended …
