Community: “The essence of the beautiful is unity in variety” ~ Felix Mendelssohn

community

Ah! … the joys and delights of community … as Rumi says:

There is a community of the spirit.
Join it, and feel the delight
of walking in the noisy street
and being the noise.

Drink all your passion

Flow down and down in always
widening rings of being.

Indeed, Rumi is reminding us to “taste” the gifts of community .. and experience the unending “widening rings of being” …

There are reminders of this gift – of community- all around us … and sometimes they just show up! Recently we found a gem about community and persistence – grounded in these difficult and challenging “COVID” times – that is most timely and is certainly worthy of sharing far and wide 🙂 …

A most delightful and engaging musician couple – Abigail and Shaun Bengson – have used their creative genius to offer a very simple – yet profound – reminder to “keep going on” despite the challenges of the “COVID norm” … to “come together” even while we are remote and socially distanced …

And, it is yet another exquisite example of practicing “… let us vow to …. not create, and/or add-to, ill-will … be an ongoing source of harmlessness …”

So, today we invite you to come together … as the Bengsons remind us to “Keep Going …”

2020 GT - YEGREMINDER: From #GivingTuesday to Year End is our only fundraiser in the year. Our goal is $5K (all towards our essential annual operating expenses).

We have raised 64% as of this post … so please donate and help us reach our goal by Dec 31st!

All contributions are tax deductible – Stillness Speaks is a USA 501(C)(3) non profit.

The Keep Going Song …

You’ll get a deeper appreciation of Abigail and Shaun – and their most timely message of “keep going” amidst COVID … in their most engaging conversation with Robert Barry Fleming, the Executive Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville … where they talk about their creative art … their “song making” … and particularly the “… inspiration and process …” behind their most heart warming “The Keep Going Song” …

A beautiful example of “here and now … and you/me/us” … of Art & Consciousness imbued and expressed in everyday life.

Enjoy !

As we’ve done since the COVID crisis began … we want to honor and highlight the “heroes” that continue to ensure our health and safety in the midst of the pandemic: Go Fund Me has organized various campaigns targeted towards the COVID-19 relief efforts. All of these campaigns are worthy of our attention … but for now we want to highlight TWO critical ones that we are supporting personally and also as Stillness Speaks (through donations):

We are all facing financial challenges but IF your situation allows you to donate and help then …

… please visit  Frontline Responders Fund’s Go Fund Me page … and help deliver crucial supplies to these frontline responders …

… and/or visit  America’s Food Fund Go Fund Me page and help feed the neighbors in need.

And, we again, express our deepest gratitude to a) the COVID-19 Frontline Responders (all the healthcare professionals – doctors, nurses, hospital/medical-services staff – firefighters, law enforcement, volunteers, and any/all the people involved in keeping the “system-at-large” functioning for ALL of us) … and b) Go Fund Me for organizing America’s Food Fund to feed the needy.

THANK YOU.

May The Bengsons example inspire you to keep going on … and …

May you cultivate and deepen peace in your everyday life … and …

May you remain safe and healthy as you navigate these troubling times.
