silence, stillness: “… On this one point all saints, sages, and illumined beings agree: There is nothing as certain as silence, stillness, and solitude to introduce you to the divinity within …” ~ Guy Finley
Indeed silence, stillness, and solitude are the deepest sources of nourishment … and this week we are retreating into this deepest of wells … consequently …
… this week our usual Weekly post is not being published …Â
Meanwhile … below are some pertinent gems (from Guy Finley) on silence and stillness …
Pause … reflect … and see where it takes you 🙂 …
True silence is, in part, the pleasurable sensation born of a quiet time taken in nature, as it is the natural repose that comes quietly at the close of day. But, in truth, silence is not a feeling at all; it is to one’s emotions as is the sky to the sunlight that streams through it, lending it life.
Your true self is a creative silence, a ground of perfect stillness from which all disturbances appear and to which they return if left alone. The clearer this revelation becomes, the more confident you become that being still is the same as the power to solve any problem before it begins.
We are really created to enter into the perfect stillness from which we came …
~~ Guy Finley
… and for even more partaking of such nourishment here is a post with a collection of our poems on silence …
So beautifully expressed:
“But, in truth, silence is not a feeling at all; it is to one’s emotions as is the sky to the sunlight that streams through it, lending it life.”
This silence which is beyond the duality of silence and sound, just as it is beyond the dualities around time and around space.
And indeed, all the myriad magical display of life manifests from this silence, is never separate from this silence, and yet the silence remains utterly untarnished by the display.
Wonderful!
Namaste Chodpa!
