stillness: “… to know our True Self, to dwell in its timeless sanctuary through which all the forms of life come and go— then we must know stillness …” ~ Guy Finley

“The inner is foundation of the outer. The still is master of the restless.” ~ Lao Tzu.

Ah! … the profound – and never ending – gifts of the “inner” … and the “stillness” … not only is Lao Tzu’s timeless wisdom worth remembering at most, if not all, times … but it is also an exquisite foundation for rejuvenation …

So, today, we are continuing a brief retreat {stemming from taking the 2nd shot of Pfizer covid vaccine, a few days ago} … to deepen the stillness while reflecting on the “inner” landscape 🙂 … consequently, the usual Wednesday post has been delayed … stay  tuned … it may appear later this week .. and if not … then next Wednesday/Apr 28th at the usual 9AM MDT …

Meanwhile … below are some gems (from Guy Finley) on stillness  …

Pause … reflect … and see where it takes you 🙂 …

We are created with the tools it takes to master our own lives. But self-mastery remains the ultimate mystery until that day dawns when—weary of struggling to overcome what we blame for our conflicted selves—we let go and enter into the untamed country of ourselves by becoming completely still. And by this stillness, we tame its wildness; and through this stillness we are given dominion over all the kingdoms of heaven and earth.

The unexpected pleasure and power of a quiet mind is that such stillness effortlessly holds—and realizes as its very own—everything that moves within it without itself being moved.

Spending our time in quiet contemplation of truth, or simply practicing being still so as to discern the Divine within ourselves, is the same as finding answers to problems before they appear!

Being at peace, and learning to live with quiet confidence—even as the world spins wildly around us—begins as we realize within us the presence and power of an interior stillness that neither needs, nor searches for, anything outside of itself in order to quietly know itself.

We know life by its movement—by its parade of passing things, and by our thoughts about them that lend us a ceaseless sensation of ourselves. But to know our True Self, to dwell in its timeless sanctuary through which all the forms of life come and go— then we must know stillness.

Coronavirus continues to take a toll on humanity and tremendous, heroic efforts continue to be underway by many to ensure our health and safety (and now, thankfully, that includes vaccination across the globe) … so, helping those who are involved in such efforts remains the “order of the day” … and in this spirit, Go Fund Me needs to be commended for organizing various campaigns targeted towards COVID-19 relief efforts. All of these campaigns are worthy of our attention … but for now we wanted to highlight TWO critical ones that we have donated personally and also as Stillness Speaks:

Despite the financial challenges that are amongst us all, if your situation allows you to donate and help then …

… please visit  Frontline Responders Fund’s Go Fund Me page … and help deliver crucial supplies to these frontline responders …

… and/or visit  America’s Food Fund Go Fund Me page and help feed the neighbors in need.

And, we again, express our deepest gratitude to a) the COVID-19 Frontline Responders (all the healthcare professionals – doctors, nurses, hospital/medical-services staff – firefighters, law enforcement, volunteers, and any/all the people involved in keeping the “system-at-large” functioning for ALL of us) … and b) Go Fund Me for organizing America’s Food Fund to feed the needy.

THANK YOU!
