I’ve been yearning with desire 2 become silent for a period of time. A year a century.. a lifetime.
Patricia,
Silence is a natural yearning – though, paradoxically, one becomes aware of (or “hears”) this yearning only if one is “quiet” enough from the daily chatter within 🙂
Ramana Maharshi was silent for almost 11 years!
Taking time to “explore Silence,” e.g., via silent retreats – whether they are 1-day or 2-3days or week or more OR even trying silence, for some duration, daily – is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.
Thanks for dropping by and taking time to comment.
Hope you allow the yearning to unfold.

How lovely. I am a lover of Silence and have been blessed with the time and space to sink into It and become slowly dissolved…sometimes blissful, sometimes terrifying, but always profound and transformative. The more I drown, the more Love comes alive, and Light and Beauty shine through the world. Thank you for sharing and for your inspiring website.
Cristina,
Thanks so much for your candid and heartfelt comments about silence and for the kind words about our site.
Indeed silence is both terrifying and exhilarating .. but as you rightly say – transformative.
Since my own deep explorations into silence, I’ve always felt that “silence is the best gift we can give ourselves” … and the wonderful thing about it is that it requires no retreat or external dependencies – can be done at one’s convenience… and even deepened (if so desired), bringing unimaginable “rewards.”
